The short version
- Count Split helps groups record shared costs and work out who owes whom. It doesn't move money.
- What you add is yours. Be kind about what you add about other people.
- Check the amounts before you pay anyone. Count Split does the maths, not the paying.
- You can stop using it and delete your account whenever you like.
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Rayslight ("we", "us") for using the Count Split app and countsplit.rayslight.com (together, "Count Split"). By using Count Split, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Count Split.
2. What Count Split does
Count Split lets you record shared expenses, see each person's balance and work out the payments that settle a group. It is a record-keeping tool:
- It doesn't send, receive or hold money, and it isn't a bank, wallet or payment service.
- "Mark as paid" and "Send request" only record or share a message about a payment. Paying someone happens outside Count Split, between you and them.
3. Who can use Count Split
You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it, to use Count Split. If you're under 18, please use it with the permission of a parent or guardian.
4. Your account
You can use Count Split without an account. If you create one, give accurate details, keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
5. Your content
The groups, expenses, names, notes and photos you add ("your content") stay yours. You give us permission to store, copy and show your content only as needed to run Count Split for you, for example to sync it to your other devices and to show a shared group to its members.
You're responsible for your content. Only add other people's names, photos or details when they're happy for you to, and don't add anything you don't have the right to share.
6. Shared groups
- Anyone with a group's invite link or QR code can view it, so share them only with the people in the group.
- A group's owner and admins decide who can add expenses, share the group, edit it and join it. The owner can delete the group for everyone.
- Disagreements about who owes what are between the members of a group. We can't decide them or reverse what members record.
7. Using Count Split fairly
Please don't:
- use Count Split for anything illegal, fraudulent or harmful, or to harass, threaten or deceive anyone;
- try to get into groups, accounts or data that aren't yours, or get around the app's roles and settings;
- overload, disrupt or attack Count Split or the services it runs on, or use automated tools to access it;
- copy, sell or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
8. Price
Count Split is free to use. If we ever add paid features, we'll show the price clearly before you pay anything.
9. Amounts and calculations
We work hard to keep Count Split's balances and settlement suggestions correct, but they're only as accurate as the amounts entered, and rounding can differ by a cent. Please check the figures before you pay or ask anyone for money. Count Split doesn't give financial, legal or tax advice.
10. Changes to the app
We keep improving Count Split, so features may change, and we may pause or end parts of it. If we plan to stop offering Count Split, we'll tell you in the app in good time so you can export your data.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using Count Split at any time and delete your account in the app under Profile → Delete account (see how to delete your account). We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law or safety stops us.
12. Warranty and liability
Count Split is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will always be available, error-free or suited to a particular purpose.
To the extent the law allows, Rayslight isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from payments or arrangements between group members. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. If you live elsewhere, you also keep the protections the law of your country gives you that can't be changed by agreement.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant we'll tell you in the app before it applies. If you keep using Count Split after that, the new terms apply.
